Glastonbury Festival

This is the Coolcampervans guide to the best Music Festivals in 2010

All of our campervans and motorhomes are adapted for use at music festivals from our own experiences!!!

This is the Coolcampervans guide to the best Music Festivals in 2010

You will see our Campervans and Motorhomes at the various music festivals this year and you may even meet Suzanne and I who are regular music festival goers.
Our favourite is Glastonbury because of the wide range of music and arts. Glastonbury is the daddy of all music festivals and we love it!
Please book your campervan early to avoid disappointment as for some festivals we book one year in advance.

ChillBig Chill
If the word festival conjures up images of muddy wellies, soggy burgers, tattooed teens and chemical toilets, then the Big Chill events may persuade you to think otherwise.

More of a three day holiday than a festival, this is a festival with a difference. Both quiet and family camping is available on site, with a clean covered dining & cooking area, but quality edibles will also be available for those too chilled to cook!

Glastonbury Festival
Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts

Glastonbury is the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world set in 900 acres of the Vale of Avalon, an area steeped in symbolism, mythology and religious traditions dating back many hundreds of years. The modern day festival has also etched its way into rock history since it started in 1970, and acts as a benchmark by which all other festivals are compared. None will ever match it in terms of its unique atmosphere, which eclipses the actual music. As well as being one of the most spectacular events on earth Glastonbury Festival retains its ethos as a positive force for change locally and internationally; each year that the Festival trades at a profit major donations are made to a variety of good causes.

Isle of Wight Festival
Historically the Biggest UK Festival EVER!
After an absence of 32 years, the Isle of Wight Festival returned in 2002. History dictates that over half a million came in 1970, making it the biggest UK Festival ever - not even Live Aid, Knebworth, Glastonbury or Reading achieve those numbers. The IoW Festival now packages together and brands as many musical events, in as many different venues, under the one Festival umbrella to create a complete attraction to music lovers across the UK - from beach parties to jazz, jamming sessions to lectures, rock concerts to inter-band football matches...

FlagsLeeds Festival
Reading's Northern Sister!

The Carling Weekend
Leeds Festival was born in 1999, allowing festival-goers in the North of England to enjoy the stunning and often exclusive line-ups that its older brother Reading secured. Both festivals make up The Carling Weekend, the UK's only simultaneously occurring 3 day festival, with the line-ups rotating between the two sites. In contrast to the more urban setting of Reading, Leeds takes place in the smaller, but far more picturesque setting of Bramham Park (10 miles outside the city), having moved from its original venue (Temple Newsham Park) in 2003.

Radio 1 One Big Weekend
Tickets might be free, but because of that they are sure to go fast - so make sure you are first in the queue
Radio 1 play host to a free festival weekend of indie, rock and dance.

Solfest
Get Celtic in the country!

Nestled between the mountains in the picturesque setting of West Cumbria, Solfest is a Celtic, world and roots three-day event, featuring a range of musical, cultural, and eye-opening experiences.

T in the Park
Scotland's legendary super-fest
From its beginnings at Strathclyde Country Park in 1994, T in the Park has grown in size and influence to become one of the most important and critically acclaimed music events on the UK and European festival scenes, and is firmly established as Scotland's most popular weekend out. The festival is now situated in the lush Scottish countryside of Balado, near Kinross. This popularity can be attributed to the festivals unique party atmosphere, and also to the fact that it has one of Europe's most exciting line-ups with over 120 bands and artists playing nine stages, from the finest unsigned talent to world-wide stars.

V FestT4 on the Beach
Oh I do like to be beside the sea side, oh I do like to be beside the sea!
Channel 4's summer music event, T4 on the beach takes place this year in sunny old Weston-super-Mare, which will feature exclusive performances from some of the best current bands around. A day of great live music, plenty of ice cream and hopefully lots of sunshine should ensure a day well spent, so join the T4 presenters at the sea side to see your favourite bands play your favourite summer tunes!

V Festival
The Original Stereo Super-fest!
It slices, it dices and it'll even get you high if you let it. Welcome to the phenomenon that is the 'V' Festival. Like all Virgin products, cynics will whinge that it's just not the real thing, but the converted will rejoice in its modern approach, and that certainly includes us. Most festivals revel in their ideologies, and V's is simply that a bit of corporate sponsorship is a small price to pay for a secure, mud-free site with low queuing times and premier league artists. V is also the UK's first and only dual two-day site, occurring simultaneously in Chelmsford and Staffordshire, with the line-ups rotating each day.
